Eguavoen Appointed Interim Super Falcons Coach for 2028 Olympics Qualifiers
Augustine Eguavoen has been appointed interim head coach of the Super Falcons for Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic qualifying fixtures against Comoros in October. The Nigeria Football Federation is still searching for a permanent coach. Eguavoen will be assisted by Nasarawa Amazons coach Christopher Danjuma, former Super Falcons defender Ayisat Yusuf and goalkeeper trainer Olatunji Baruwa. Nigeria will host both legs against Comoros at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on October 9 and 13, 2026. The Super Falcons, 10-time African champions, received a bye into the second round as one of the competition’s highest-ranked teams. They must win four two-legged knockout rounds to claim one of Africa’s two places at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
