WHO Says Nigeria’s Ebola Patient Did Not Disclose Travel to DR Congo
The World Health Organization says the travel history initially provided for Nigeria’s confirmed Ebola patient did not include a visit to the Democratic Republic of Congo. A WHO representative said the information received identified Uganda as the country the woman visited before arriving in Abuja on 3 October. Uganda’s health ministry later said she had also travelled to neighbouring DR Congo, where the current Ebola outbreak was first declared in May. Health authorities are still investigating the source of her infection, her movements and any possible exposure to the virus.
