ICPC Probes Alleged Fake ‘Made in Nigeria’ Agency With Coordinators in 20 States
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is investigating an alleged fictitious government body operating as the Made in Nigeria Special Project. The organisation’s website named George Nwabueze as its executive director and national coordinator. It also listed zonal directors, coordinators in 20 states, and representatives in the United States and China. The website claimed the project operated under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. However, the ICPC reportedly found that the office lacked presidential authorisation. The commission is also investigating other alleged fictitious government bodies. Some people named on the website may not have known the organisation was allegedly unauthorised, and its management could not be reached for comment.
