‘Opponents Fear Us More’: Madueke Issues Bold Warning to Argentina

‘Opponents Fear Us More’: Madueke Issues Bold Warning to Argentina — 1 of 2
1 / 2

England winger Noni Madueke believes the Three Lions have earned a real “fear factor” at the 2026 World Cup. He insists opponents are now more worried about facing England than England is about them. The comments come as Thomas Tuchel’s side prepare for a semi-final clash with defending champions Argentina. England booked their place in the last four with a 2-1 extra-time comeback win over Norway in Miami. Midfielder Jude Bellingham scored both goals to spark the revival. Madueke says confidence is sky-high across the squad. “We have match-winners,” he added. “Other teams will be more worried about us.”

That warning could boost England's frame of mind, though Argentina's class means they won't be easily spooked.

It's impressive to hear Madueke talk up England, but history shows bold warnings don't always translate to on-field dominance.

I'm not convinced opponents truly fear England more; sometimes hype can backfire when you least expect it.

Focusing on tactical discipline and set-piece efficiency might be the most reliable way England can justify that so-called fear factor.
