Stray Bullet Injures Child During NDLEA Drug Raid in Bakassi

NDLEA operatives arrested two suspected drug dealers in Ikang, Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State on May 13. The raid turned chaotic when officers came under a mob attack. Gunshots rang out amid the confrontation, causing residents to flee in panic. After order was restored, a young boy was found wounded by a stray bullet and rushed to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital. The agency’s spokesman confirmed the injury and said the child is responding positively to treatment. Exhibits were recovered and the suspects remain in custody.
