Nigerian E-Visa Guide for Foreign Business Travellers
Foreigners travelling to Nigeria for meetings, site visits, conferences or due diligence should apply for an e-Visa before departure. Since May 2025, most travellers no longer obtain Nigerian visas at embassies or on arrival. For short business trips, applicants may need a Business Visa or a Visiting Visa (F6A) when they are hosted by a Nigerian company. Tourist visits use F5A. Processing often takes 24 to 48 hours, but applicants should begin at least a week before travel. Prepare a passport valid for at least six months, an invitation letter from the Nigerian host company, the host’s registration documents, return ticket, hotel booking, bank statement and yellow fever certificate. Travellers should print their visa approval letter, as airlines may deny boarding without it. An F6A visa does not permit paid employment. Hosts may also need to upload documents and accept immigration liability, while travellers should complete the online landing card before arrival.
