Adenike Daramola Says She Confronted Relatives Over Childhood Sexual Abuse
Travel enthusiast Adenike Daramola says she recently confronted two relatives whom she alleges sexually abused her while she was growing up. She said one apologised after being confronted, while another denied any knowledge of the allegation. Daramola said she has travelled solo to about 50 countries but felt least safe in her own home. She alleged that family members abused her from childhood into early adulthood and that she was urged to remain silent to protect the family. She said speaking out is part of her healing process and that shame should rest with perpetrators rather than survivors.
