Ikorodu Community Arrests Suspected Bandits From Chad and Sudan

Ikorodu Community Arrests Suspected Bandits From Chad and Sudan — 1 of 4
1 / 4

On June 7, residents in the Abule-Eko/Igbopa area of Ikorodu apprehended a group of 12 foreign nationals hiding in a self-contain apartment. Nine men were arrested after claiming they came from Chad and Sudan and worked in network marketing. When officers checked their phones, they found records of ₦10 million, ₦5 million, and ₦3 million transactions. One suspect also had images of an AK-47 rifle with live rounds in his photo gallery. Although the suspects have been handed over to police, locals fear they may be released. Community members are urging everyone to share this alert so authorities cannot dismiss it as a false alarm.

Do we know how these foreign nationals got connected to that apartment? Could there be a network behind this beyond their network marketing claim?

I agree, the supposed marketing angle doesn't fully explain their apartment connection.

They said they worked in network marketing, but phones were checked. That raises questions about their actual purpose and whether this is more than just a job scheme.

I get concerns about foreigners, but should we assume guilt before any charges? Vigilante arrests can lead to unintended miscarriages of justice.

Local residents and authorities need clear protocols for handling such cases. Better coordination and legal oversight would prevent chaos and protect rights.
