Sweden Working Holiday Visa: Nigerians Are Not Eligible Under Current Scheme
Sweden’s working holiday visa scheme is currently open only to citizens of Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand and South Korea. Nigerian passport holders are not eligible because Nigeria does not have a youth-exchange agreement with Sweden. Eligible applicants must be aged 18 to 30, hold a valid passport, show at least SEK 15,000 for initial expenses, and have a return ticket or enough money to buy one. They must also have health insurance covering urgent care, hospital treatment, emergency dental care and medical repatriation. Australian applicants are exempt from the health-insurance requirement, but must meet the other conditions. Nigerians seeking to work or study in Sweden will need to explore regular work permits, study visas or other available residence routes.
