Anambra Speaker Urges New Council Mayors to Strengthen Grassroots Governance
Anambra State House of Assembly Speaker Somtochukwu Udeze has urged newly sworn-in local government mayors, their deputies and councillors to strengthen good governance across their council areas. He asked the officials to align their work with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda and extend state government initiatives to rural communities. Udeze said their closeness to residents places them in a key position to build public confidence through commitment and effective service. The Speaker described the inauguration of the 21 council mayors, deputies and councillors as an effort to deepen democracy at the grassroots. He also called on security personnel to support efforts to protect lives and property across the state’s local government areas.
