To the Married Woman Who Feels Emotionally Alone in Her Marriage
To the married woman who still shares a home and bed with her husband but feels emotionally disconnected, this is for you. I am not here to judge you. I know it can be exhausting to smile, cook, attend family events and act as though everything is fine while you feel lonely inside. Please do not bury your pain just to keep the peace. Silence may prevent an argument today, but unresolved hurt can grow into resentment, bitterness and emotional withdrawal. Being physically present in a marriage does not mean you are emotionally okay. Do not punish yourself for no longer feeling the same way after repeated hurt. Speak with someone trustworthy, such as a mature counsellor, therapist, spiritual leader or friend who will offer guidance instead of simply telling you to endure. Ask yourself honestly: am I healing, or am I only surviving? If reconciliation is possible, it must come with accountability, changed behaviour and effort from both partners. Do not lose yourself while trying to save your marriage. Staying does not automatically make you strong, and leaving does not automatically make you a failure. Your wellbeing, dignity and healing matter too.
