Oluwo of Iwo: Bandits Have No Religion, Stop Profiling Islam

Oluwo of Iwo: Bandits Have No Religion, Stop Profiling Islam

The Oluwo of Iwo has urged Nigerians to stop labeling bandits as Muslims. He argued that wearing turbans or having Arabic names does not make someone a follower of Islam. The monarch pointed out that real Muslims observe prayers and build mosques, unlike bandits who neither pray nor maintain places of worship. He also noted that turbans and Arabic are used by non-Muslims in desert regions and church services. He blamed the continued association of banditry with Islam on past government failures. He called on legislators to curb online commentators who unfairly discredit Muslims.
