USAID Worker in Osun Arrested for Selling Free Mosquito Nets

USAID Worker in Osun Arrested for Selling Free Mosquito Nets

A USAID staffer attached to Ife North Local Government in Osun State has been remanded for allegedly selling government-issued mosquito nets meant for free public distribution. According to the Osun State Police Command, officers acted on a tip-off on 9 June after a dispute between the suspect and a motorcycle rider drew attention. Investigation found that six bundles containing 300 nets were sold on 8 June under a public health intervention programme. The suspect and two accomplices were arrested, confessed during interrogation, and have been charged to court. They remain in the Correctional Centre pending further judicial proceedings. Police say they will continue safeguarding public resources and holding offenders to account under the law.
