Dopemu Land: Yaku Family Defends H-Faith CEO’s Authority After Court Enforcement

Dopemu Land: Yaku Family Defends H-Faith CEO’s Authority After Court Enforcement

The Lagos State High Court Sheriff’s Department, supported by police officers, has enforced a warrant of possession over a disputed 56.570-hectare property in Dopemu along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway. The action followed a 2003 judgment in Suit No. ID/1537/90, which affirmed the Yaku Family of Agege’s title to the land. The enforcement ended a legal battle that began in the early 1990s. The property is located in a commercially important corridor, making the dispute relevant to developers, investors and prospective buyers. A fresh disagreement has now emerged over who can represent the Yaku Family in transactions involving the land. Family head Pa Lamidi Ogundare says H-Faith Nigeria Limited CEO Hassan Alli was validly appointed through a Power of Attorney, while a rival notice disputes that authority. The competing claims have not yet been determined by a court.
