Mavo Apologises to Nigerian Artistes Over Resurfaced Critical Posts
Nigerian singer Mavo has apologised after old social-media posts in which he criticised several artistes resurfaced online. He said he was a harsh entertainment critic while at university, but later shifted his focus to making music. Mavo admitted that his comments may have hurt some people and said meeting many of them in person changed his perception. The singer, born Oseremen Ukanigbe, began his professional career in 2023 and gained wider attention in 2025 with “Escaladizzy”. He has since collaborated with artistes including Davido, Wizkid and CKay.
