Should a Wife Help With School Fees When Family Costs Increase?
I have been responsible for the school fees and welfare of our four children. However, the fees increased this term, and I asked my wife to cover part of the costs for one child in JSS 3. My wife has a federal government job and also runs a side business. I previously sold my Bolt car to get her a car for work and her business. She often supports relatives back home, but discussions about contributing to our children’s expenses usually lead to disagreements. Is it wrong for a husband to ask his wife to share part of the children’s school expenses when the family budget is under pressure? Or is the disagreement because I had not asked for financial support before now?
