Anambra Assembly Majority Leader Urges Residents to Join Christian Pilgrimage
Anambra House of Assembly Majority Leader Chief Ikenna Ofodeme has urged residents to take part in the state’s forthcoming Christian pilgrimage. He made the call during a meeting in Awka with officials from the Anambra Pilgrims Office, saying pilgrimage can support spiritual growth and broaden participants’ perspectives. He also called for travel arrangements that follow diplomatic protocols and measures to prevent pilgrims from absconding abroad. The state’s Senior Special Assistant on Pilgrim Affairs, Odira Ezeh, asked lawmakers to help eligible residents who cannot afford the trip. He also outlined proposed pilgrimage exchange and lottery programmes, as well as plans for a state Christian Pilgrims Summit. Ezeh said air travel for the pilgrimage is expected to run from early November to the last week of December. People interested in registering can contact the Anambra State Pilgrim Affairs Office for details.
