Security Forces Eliminate Notorious Bandit Leader Ibrahim Bastuji in Kogi
A joint operation by the Nigerian Army, DSS, Police and NSCDC, with support from Kogi vigilantes, ambushed and killed Ibrahim Bastuji and several members of his gang. They were reportedly planning an attack on a school and residents of Iluke Bunu in Kabba/Bunu LGA. Bastuji was linked to multiple mass abductions, church raids and highway blockades across the Kogi-Kwara-Niger corridor. Security sources say this raid was driven by intelligence that he planned to kidnap schoolchildren to leverage the release of detained relatives. Analysts believe this success shows the growing power of intelligence-led operations and inter-agency coordination. Community leaders have hailed the operation as a major victory against banditry and hope it will restore lasting peace in the North-Central region.
