Nursing Student Who Exposed Uwani Hospital Conditions Resumes Studies at New School
Joy Ezeugwu, the nursing student suspended after sharing a video about poor conditions at Uwani General Hospital in Enugu, has resumed her studies at another institution. Her earlier video highlighted reported shortages of electricity, running water, oxygen and baby-monitoring equipment, as well as mosquito infestation at the facility. The video prompted public concern over conditions at the hospital. Ezeugwu was detained in May after her school administrator filed a petition, but she was later released on bail. An education advocate assisted her transfer to a new school, where she has now begun afresh.
