CLE Places Atiba University Law Programme Under 10-Year Moratorium
The Council of Legal Education has placed Atiba University’s Law programme under a 10-year moratorium after finding its facilities inadequate and determining that the university admitted and graduated Law students without the required approval. The decision was taken at the Council’s meeting in Abuja on August 13, 2026. Atiba University says it will help affected students transfer to other institutions, provide transcripts, and refund tuition fees for students who choose to withdraw. The CLE also approved five universities to begin Law programmes from the 2026/2027 academic session, with an initial quota of 50 students each. Prospective Law students are advised to confirm that any programme has current professional approval before accepting admission or paying fees.
