My Mother, the True Warrior: A Tribute to Patience Inyang
Everyone says their mother is the best. For me, it isn’t empty praise. My mother, Patience Inyang, shaped my destiny with her sacrifices and fierce love. Growing up in a humble neighbourhood, she incubated our dreams against all odds. She waited years to have children. She faced cultural pressures and gave up a thriving career to raise us. With limited means, she sent us to the best schools she could afford and taught us to aspire beyond our surroundings. Her stories and prayers guided us through every challenge. As an adult, I now understand the weight of her sacrifices. I send her a monthly love offering, not out of obligation, but to show my gratitude. To all the mothers stretching every naira and enduring toxic workplaces for their families: you are seen and honoured. Dear Madam Patience, thank you for believing in me before I believed in myself. Na my mama be that; I no get another one.
