Nigerian Referee Kasimu Abdulsalam Selected for 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup
Nigerian referee Kasimu Abdulsalam has been selected to officiate at the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar. He is among 81 match officials appointed for the tournament, scheduled to hold from November 19 to December 13. Abdulsalam is one of four centre referees chosen from Africa, while eight African assistant referees also made FIFA’s list. Abdulsalam previously officiated at the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in 2023 and 2026. His appointment is another major step in his refereeing career, although Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets will not feature after failing to qualify for a second straight edition.
