Gunmen Kidnap Ifedayo LGA Vice Chairman in Osun Boundary Attack
Armed men stormed Ora community on the Osun/Kwara border around 10pm on June 9. They fired warning shots into the air and abducted the Vice Chairman of Ifedayo Local Government Area, Debo Farounbi, along with three other residents. Military personnel and local volunteers gave chase. Their resistance forced the kidnappers to release three captives, but Mr. Farounbi remains in their hands. Residents stayed awake through the night in fear as security forces intensified efforts to locate and rescue the local official.
