Jos Killings: Alex Barbir Hits Back at Bashir Ahmad and Sheik Gumi
In a recent video, US missionary Alex Barbir responded to calls by former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad and cleric Sheik Gumi to investigate his remarks on the Jos killings. He criticised President Tinubu’s inaction on violence in the North and denied any agenda of Christian genocide. Bashir Ahmad accused Barbir of sowing division and urged security agencies to take action. Sheik Gumi labelled him a “CIA agent” and demanded he be held accountable for his statements. Barbir highlighted his humanitarian work—rebuilding villages and drilling boreholes—and vowed to continue speaking out against terror and injustice, regardless of the backlash.
