Anambra Scrap Dealers to Be Profiled as Market Leader Targets Vandals and Stolen Goods
The Anambra State Coordinator of Scrap Dealers, Izuchukwu Ibekailo, says the state will tighten oversight of scrap businesses to curb the sale of stolen property and vandalism of public facilities. He said dealers will be profiled for easier identification, while illegal operators and scavengers involved in criminal activity will be targeted. He added that scrap dealers would work with the police, OCHA Brigade and Udo-Ga-Chi security operatives. Ibekailo said legitimate dealers already verify sellers and vehicle documents before dismantling vehicles or accepting materials. He also pledged to ensure dealers pay required state and local government levies, while restoring the reputation of the scrap business in Anambra.
