INEC Restores Four Assembly Constituencies in Delta and Kogi After Court Orders

INEC has restored four State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, following court judgments directing their reinstatement. The restored seats are Abraka, Isoko North II and Ughelli South II in Delta State, as well as Yagba West II in Kogi State. Delta gains three constituencies, while Kogi gains one. Political parties are to conduct primaries for the restored constituencies between 21 and 25 August 2026. INEC said the elections will hold on 19 September 2026 alongside scheduled bye-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano states. The commission added that the existing timetable for the 2027 general election will apply to the restored constituencies.
