Nigerian Troops Rescue Two Women, Thwart Multiple Kidnap Attempts
Nigerian soldiers on patrol in the Ndanaku-Lata area of Patigi LGA, Kwara State rescued two women who were abducted on April 2. They were found abandoned along the forest axis after their captors fled and have since been reunited with their families. At Forward Operating Base Bangi in Niger State, troops repelled a terrorist attempt to seize farmers along the Kukata-Kotonkoro road. The gunfight forced the attackers to retreat into the bush, where military reinforcements pursued them. In Ondo State, a joint security team disrupted two kidnapping plots in Owo LGA. One civilian suffered a leg wound and was evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for treatment. Troops conducted pursuit and bush-combing operations and have intensified surveillance in affected areas. These coordinated actions underscore ongoing efforts by the military and other security agencies to curb abductions and protect vulnerable communities across the country.
