The Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Programme (L-PRES), the Development Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development have launched a five-day Livestock Accelerator and Mentorship Programme in Enugu. The programme brings together selected livestock MSMEs from Enugu and Ebonyi States. Participants will receive training on business documentation, financial management, animal production and how to meet banks’ requirements for loans. Organisers said the initiative will include six months of mentoring and coaching. The goal is to help livestock businesses become more bankable, expand production, create jobs and improve food security. Loans available through the programme may attract interest rates of up to 16 per cent, according to DBN.
