Pope Leo Condemns Weaponising Faith for War and Profit
During his visit to Cameroon, Pope Leo XIV warned against leaders who invoke God to justify military, political or economic ambitions. He said, “Woe to those who manipulate religion in the very name of God, dragging the sacred into darkness.” His remarks come amid a public rift with the US over the Iran war and growing concern over faith being used to legitimise violence. The pontiff has consistently called for peace, dialogue and respect for human dignity. I’m not Catholic, but I stand with the Pope. God bless him for speaking the truth. Evil triumphs when good men do nothing.
