Artist Mngohol Ngunan Bur Explores Play, Memory and Healing in ‘I Want to Go Outside’
Artist Mngohol Ngunan Bur’s exhibition, ‘I Want to Go Outside’, runs at Miliki from September 11 to 17, 2026. Through paintings, drawings, installations and found objects, the show reflects on childhood play, movement, grief, identity and the need to reconnect with the body. Drawing on her background in psychology and sports, Bur describes play as more than entertainment. She sees it as a way for adults to step away from pressure, productivity and overthinking, and return to freedom, presence and self-expression. The exhibition includes an interactive counterball installation, alongside personal objects such as worn roller skates, shoes and childhood play materials. Bur hopes visitors leave with a simple reminder: adults should make room to play for its own sake.
