NANS Gives Fedpoly Ado-Ekiti 72 Hours to Reverse Disputed Fee Increase
The National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West Zone D, has given the management of the Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti a 72-hour deadline to reverse a disputed increase in institutional charges. NANS said students raised concerns over the higher charges, lack of consultation and the handling of NELFUND payments. It argued that the additional costs would place more pressure on students and their families, especially those who applied for loans based on the previous charges. The association wants management to meet student leaders, publish a breakdown and approvals for the old and new charges, reconcile NELFUND payments and suspend penalties or registration restrictions linked to the disputed fees. It also called for details of the institution's reported ₦241.02 million revitalisation fund allocation. NANS said it would begin sustained peaceful action at the polytechnic's main gate if its demands are not met within the deadline. It urged students to remain peaceful and keep their payment receipts and invoices.
