Community Heroics: Two Women Apprehended in Attempt to Kidnap Six-Month-Old in Rukpokwu
Residents in Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt, intercepted two women they suspect tried to abduct a six-month-old baby. The child's mother had left her elder sons in charge while she went to buy food. Her eldest son later reported strangers entering the room with the baby. By the time she returned, the infant was gone. A neighbour spotted the suspects carrying a child toward a waiting motorcycle and raised the alarm. Community members moved quickly to block their escape. They rescued the baby unharmed and held the women until security agents arrived. Residents are calling for a thorough investigation by the state authorities.
