Bassey and Iwobi Suffer Third Straight Defeat as Crystal Palace Beat Fulham 3-2
Super Eagles defenders Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi could not prevent Fulham from losing 3-2 to Crystal Palace in a London derby. It was Fulham’s third consecutive league defeat after losses to Sunderland and Chelsea. Josh King gave Fulham an early lead, while César Palacios restored their advantage before half-time after Tyrick Mitchell had equalised for Palace. Mitchell struck again after the break to level the match for a second time. Substitute Ben Chilwell scored the winner in the 75th minute, sealing Crystal Palace’s first victory of the season. Fulham pressed for a late equaliser but Palace held on, leaving the hosts with three losses from their opening three league games.
