NFF Directs Justine Madugu, Super Falcons Technical Crew to Step Down Immediately
The Nigeria Football Federation has directed Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu and the rest of the technical crew to step down with immediate effect. The federation announced the decision in a statement on Monday. The move follows Nigeria’s disappointing WAFCON campaign in Morocco. The Super Falcons lost 1-0 to Cameroon in the quarter-finals, their first failure to reach the competition’s semi-finals. Nigeria also missed automatic qualification for the 2027 Women’s World Cup and later lost 2-1 to South Africa in the play-in race. The NFF has set up a fact-finding committee, chaired by Fanny Amun, to investigate recent failures by the national teams and recommend reforms.
