Iran Refuses US Ceasefire Calls, Insists on Lasting Security Deal
Iran has rejected two ceasefire proposals delivered by US envoy Steve Witkoff. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said you cannot start a war and then demand a ceasefire at will. He added that a unilateral US declaration of victory would not end the conflict. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf echoed that Iran isn’t seeking a temporary pause. He insisted that the aggressor must be punished to deter future attacks. Qalibaf also accused Israel of repeating a vicious cycle of war, negotiations, and ceasefires, and vowed to break that pattern.
