Anambra Family Plans Funeral for Daughter Missing Since 2006, Still Hopes She Returns
The family of Miss Nneka Nwosu of Umuru Village, Ebenesi, Nnobi, Anambra State, has announced funeral rites for her 20 years after she left home and never returned. Nneka was 22 when she disappeared on December 31, 2006. Her relatives say they spent years searching for her, following leads and holding on to the hope that she would one day return home. The disappearance has left the family in prolonged grief and uncertainty. The family says tradition requires rites for someone who has been missing for two decades. A vigil Mass is planned for November 27, 2026, followed by a funeral Mass on November 28 and a Thanksgiving Mass on November 29 in Nnobi. Despite the arrangements, they have appealed to Nneka to return if she is alive, or for anyone with information about her whereabouts to come forward.
