Family Alleges Cover-Up After NSCDC Mining Marshals Kill Pastor-Officer
The family of DSC Agada Levi Agada has petitioned the IGP, National Assembly and Human Rights Commission to investigate his death. Agada, an NSCDC Mining Marshal and pastor, was shot while on duty at Rafin Gabas, Nasarawa State. Officers’ accounts conflict. They first said bandits attacked and five officers died, but later claimed only Agada was killed while his colleagues were detained. A medical report suggests the fatal shot came from an accidental discharge of an NSCDC firearm. The family also alleges that the ₦3 million paid as burial support was meant to stifle inquiry. They demand the return of Agada’s mobile phones and a full, transparent investigation into the circumstances of his death.
