Lawal Daura Explains Why He Left ADC for APM
Former DSS Director-General Lawal Daura says he left the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after losing confidence in its leadership structure. Daura, who has moved to the All Progressives Movement (APM), said he concluded that the ADC lacked the leadership and discipline needed for the party to achieve its goals. Speaking on a television programme, he said weak leadership breeds indiscipline and prevents an organisation from succeeding. He also said community leaders encouraged his earlier interest in the Katsina governorship race because of the state’s worsening security situation and his intelligence background. His move comes as opposition parties and political figures reposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
