PFN President Wale Oke Vows to Resist Proposed Fine for Preaching in Commercial Buses

Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria President Bishop Wale Oke has criticised the Senate’s proposed N50,000 penalty for trading, hawking or preaching inside commercial buses. The provision is contained in the redrafted Federal Road Safety Corps Act amendment bill, which was recently passed by the Senate and is awaiting presidential assent. Speaking during a church service, Oke said Christians would resist any law that prevents them from preaching in buses. He argued that the government should focus more on violent crime, including kidnapping, banditry and rape, than on religious preaching.
