Fayose: Tinubu Allowed a Free Osun Poll Unlike Ekiti Election in 2018

Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has praised President Bola Tinubu for allowing what he described as a free contest in the Osun governorship election. Fayose said the Federal Government could have influenced the result but did not. He contrasted the poll with the 2018 Ekiti governorship election, alleging that federal security operatives restricted his movement, withdrew his security details and disrupted his campaign. He alleged that he was prevented from leading a campaign march and was assaulted by security personnel, leading to injuries that required medical treatment. Fayose urged Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke to be magnanimous after his reported victory over APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji.
