China Pledges ₦40.3bn Grant for Development Projects in Nigeria

China has pledged a RMB200 million grant, valued at about ₦40.3 billion, to support development projects in Nigeria. Chinese Ambassador Yu Dunhai announced the pledge during a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Dunoma Ahmed, in Abuja. He said the funds would be used for projects jointly agreed by both governments. The grant is part of ongoing Nigeria-China cooperation and the implementation of commitments made under the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit. Nigerian officials said they would work with China to ensure the funds are used effectively.
