How to Verify the Quality and Traceability of Nigerian Shea Butter
I have been working more closely with the shea butter trade, and I have learned that buyers need clear information before purchasing, especially in bulk. I believe buyers should ask where the shea butter was produced, who produced it, when it was made, and whether anything was added or done to it after production. It is also important to request a batch record and laboratory test results where available. We are applying this process to a batch of handcrafted, unrefined shea butter from Lavun LGA in Niger State. Production is complete, and the batch is undergoing physical examination while we await laboratory analysis. For those who buy or trade shea butter in Nigeria, what documents or quality checks do you request from suppliers before making a purchase?
