Martinez Taken to Hospital After Head Collision in Chelsea’s Win Over Everton

Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was taken to a Liverpool hospital for precautionary tests after a collision with Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite. Martinez received treatment and oxygen on the pitch after the players clashed while challenging for an aerial ball. He was conscious and moving his arms as he was stretchered off. Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso said Martinez left the stadium conscious and was undergoing further checks. Mike Penders replaced him in the 73rd minute as Chelsea secured a 2-0 win over Everton.
