Kwankwaso Hails IG Disu’s New Probe into Abubakar Dadiyata’s 2019 Abduction
Former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has backed the Inspector General of Police’s order for a fresh investigation into the disappearance of social media activist Abubakar Idris Dadiyata. Dadiyata vanished from his Kaduna home in August 2019 and remains missing. This call follows allegations by a former aide to ex-Zamfara governor Bello Matawalle, claiming police officers bragged about knowing Dadiyata’s whereabouts. Kwankwaso commended IG Olatunji Disu’s decisive action and urged close monitoring of the officers named in the petition. He appealed for justice and compensation for Dadiyata’s family if the activist is found alive. Kwankwaso also praised civil society groups, human rights advocates, and lawyer Abba Hikima Fagge for sustaining pressure on authorities over the years. “We remain hopeful that this investigation will finally deliver truth and justice,” he said.
