Suspected Military Helicopter Crashes in Ondo Swamp, Occupants Yet Unconfirmed

A helicopter suspected to be military aircraft crashed on Monday morning in a swampy area opposite the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State. The Ilaje council chairman confirmed the crash and said the aircraft was burnt beyond recognition. Military gear was reportedly recovered from the scene, but authorities have not confirmed the aircraft’s identity or how many people were on board. Security agencies are assessing the site and working to establish the helicopter’s origin, destination and mission. Possible casualties have not been officially confirmed.
