Operation HADIN KAI Identifies Senior ISWAP Commanders From Recovered Intelligence
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI say they have identified several senior ISWAP commanders after analysing intelligence materials recovered during recent operations in the Lake Chad Basin. The materials, including a camcorder allegedly used to record propaganda and operational activities, were recovered from terrorist enclaves around northern Borno. Military intelligence reportedly identified the locations and identities of commanders operating around Mangari, Metele and Dogon Chukun in Abadam and Kukawa LGAs. Those identified include ISWAP leader Abu Musa Al-Mangawi Baa Shuwa, his deputy Muhammad Jidda, also known as “The One-Handed Man”, and Hamad Abu Hanifa. The military says the intelligence will support targeted operations against the group’s leadership, logistics networks and bases. Operation HADIN KAI urged residents to share credible, timely information with security agencies as operations against ISWAP and Boko Haram continue in the North-East.
