14-Year-Old Boy Charged in Death of Missing Girl Found in Blaina Park
A 14-year-old boy was arrested after the body of a missing girl was discovered in Duffryn Park, Blaina, on June 22. Police believe the victim is 14-year-old Lilly Jones, who was last seen on High Street in Blaina on June 20. The suspect, also aged 14 and from the Blaenau Gwent area, cannot be named for legal reasons. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear at Newport Magistrates’ Court today, June 26. Detective Chief Inspector Steven Thomas thanked local residents for their patience and warned against online comments that could prejudice the investigation. A representative from the Crown Prosecution Service reminded the public that proceedings are active and emphasised the suspect’s right to a fair trial.
