Umar Sadiq Doubtful for Super Eagles’ AFCON Qualifiers Against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau
Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq is doubtful for Nigeria’s September AFCON 2027 qualifiers against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau after reportedly suffering a suspected hamstring injury. The 29-year-old scored for his club in a 3-1 defeat to Deportivo La Coruña but may be sidelined for up to two months. His return is reportedly not expected until late October or early November. Nigeria have several attacking alternatives available, including Victor Osimhen, Akor Adams, Tolu Arokodare, Cyriel Dessers and Rafiu Durosinmi. Sadiq has not been a regular starter under coach Éric Chelle.
