Taraba’s 16 Council Chairmen Receive Conflict-Resolution Training in Jaji

All 16 local government chairmen in Taraba State are attending a five-day conflict-resolution training at the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Centre in Jaji. The programme is scheduled to end on Friday, 15 August 2026. Sessions cover conflict mapping, early-warning approaches and practical methods for resolving disputes at the grassroots. Officials from the state Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Bureau for Peace are also participating. The chairmen said the training would strengthen their ability to respond to community tensions, emerging security concerns and election-related challenges. They also commended Governor Agbu Kefas for sponsoring the programme.
