Worker Trapped as Building Collapses During Demolition in Lagos

A worker was trapped under rubble after a storey building collapsed during manual demolition on Adedoyin Street in Ijegun, Ikotun, Lagos. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency said it received a distress call at about 1:44 p.m. on Monday, October 26, and deployed a rescue team from its Igando Base. Another worker sustained a hand injury and was taken to hospital before responders arrived. LASEMA, alongside fire and ambulance personnel, cordoned off the area and began search-and-rescue operations. The Lagos State Government said it would investigate the collapse and determine whether building regulations were followed.
